Have questions about therapy?

Q&A
  • Most clients find weekly or biweekly sessions beneficial for growth and progress. Session frequency may change over time depending on various factors.

  • The length of time varies greatly between clients and what issues they are working through, including how long someone would like to spend in therapy. My goal is to get you to a place where you are stable, empowered, and consistently applying tools to maintain your mental health. The minimum number I typically see clients for is 15 sessions if they are stable and dealing with a specific issue.

  • Yes! I accept United Healthcare, Oscar Health, Oxford, Aetna and Cigna. You can learn more here.

  • Not everyone in therapy takes medication for their mental health concerns. Medication is a very helpful tool for some, but others do not find it necessary. Medication coupled with therapy can provide many benefits. Medication can help some mental health symptoms, but therapy can address the deeper issues and causes of your distress.

I am not a medical doctor and am unable to prescribe medication or give advice regarding medication. I would be happy to refer you to a psychiatrist that can assess your need for medication and answer questions you may have about this treatment option.

  • No! Although I specialize in perinatal mental health, I also work with people who are not parents! I also treat eating disorders, depression, OCD and anxiety.
